Any droid phone users on the forum?

My black berry got K.I.A lol, so I dont know, Im not a phone person, but instead of getting another blackberry, I got a droid phone. I would have gotten the droid x, but they say they not getting them in until the end of AUg (Verizon guy said that eventhough they was told aug18). I couldnt wait that long so I went with one of the phones they had.

I actually like the phone, I have had a palm os phone, a windows mobile phone, and atleast 3 blackberry phones......Im feeling it, really Cool concept but here are a couple of annoyances I have


The frequent call list? WTF can you clear that shit up? Can u hide it? Put a playa business all out there? LMAO naw I just called to verify a couple of numbers, and now I got people on the list that wouldnt normally be on the list.....Honestly I dont even like the fact that they even put a list on there I want to make that shit go away Even when I clear my call logs, that shit remains. I know over time it changes, but for me that list is stupid....

Pictures? WTF can you atleast group them? put them in folders? hide some of them ? LOL the gallery on the phone dont have any options. Cant have homegrown pics in the same grouo as my nephew and neice pics

if i'm not mistaken, you can hold down an entry in the recent call list and it'll bring up an option to delete it. Beyond that, you'd have to clear the whole list. I found that to be a pain too.

On some real shit....the droid x is ass.....it is hhuuggee....have you seen it. Put that bitch in your pocket for a day, walk around, and see what you think then. It's a bad ass screen, but the phone is too big for overall daily cell phone usage. Wait for verizon to drop it's version of the samsung galaxy s next week aka the fascinate. It's a bad ass phone. I have the tmobile version. The fascinate should spec out same as or better than the droid x. Verizon also has a droid 2 coming....also ask about the HTC incredible from verizon.

Twitter actually has a native app on the Android Market now.

Which Droid did you get? Hopefully you got the Droid X or Droid 2 being that you just upgraded. If you upgraded for the regular Droid, I would take it back and get one of the two latest models I just mentioned.

Real talk....a friend of mine is married but creeps all over Richmond. Dude makes grip but is dumb as a brick. that app doesn't work...well, it did but after the latest Droid update, it causes the LCD driver to crash. The developer is on the droid forums, he said he pulled it from the marketplace until he can work out the bugs....should be re-relasesed this weekend though.

worst time of the year to have phone problems
i killed the power button on my phone this past Monday
i know its my fault as im very hard on the power button cutting my save mode
on and off to check messages. Sprint is replacing my phone with a new one for free but the Evo's are on back order of course. still selling out.
said it would take one day to get more in stock. that one day has now turned into next week.
can only get my phone out of screen save mode by waking it up with USB or Power connection or i have to configure the screen to stay on at all times.
Will be a long weekend.

it was happening to me to. Before the update, The lady at the store had put a task killer on my joint, That joint worked pretty good. I started having problems again so I put another one, and I put this battery saver app (Juice Defender).

I dont know what the app did, but I swear my battery life last even longer now. I was trying to figure out what was going on, cause after the update, I couldnt make it a half of day with out charging (That was with minimal use of my phone)

cant talk for Gif, but I wasnt having any problems before cause I had a task killer app (installed by the nice verizon lady when I got my phone lol) Also I use my phone for work email, but even with work email, my battery wasnt draining as fast as it was.

trust me, something did change with the last update. Cause all my friends, and co workers who have droid phones mentioned it.

Of phones currently available, I suggest getting the Droid X. The iPhone also has the hotspot feature and is available on Verizon.

I just installed a ROM MikG v2.00 to my EVO
Its the absolute best ROM out there

MikG v2.00 is a new Gingerbread-based custom ROM for the HTC EVO 4G with lots of additional themes and options ready for download. The ROM is built around the latest OTA update for the EVO Shift 4G, which aamikam has odexed and worked his magic on. He says that it's "probably the most complete Sense 2.1 + Sense 3.0 ROM" out there right now, and I think he's right. It's amazing! Some of the goodies include A2SD support, elements from HTC Sense 3.0 (lock screen, task manager, and weather), increased battery efficiency, better memory management, and a whole load of other tweaks. All the Sprint bloatware has been removed, of course, but it can be reinstalled if you want it back.

One of the great things about MikG (and aamikam's other ROMs) is that everything works as long as you follow the detailed directions. Even better is the community support offered at his site; everyone is fun, refreshing, and very helpful. His ROMs are generally so stable and trouble free that you will find more casual bantering on off-topic subjects than people ranting about what doesn't work and what needs to be improved.

however I know I can easily sell my evo on craigslist rooted for at-least $200

Haven't seen a date for the Samsung Galaxy SII which is dual core but it's rumored to be out in July.

Also I don't really pay attention to how many MP a phone cam has anymore.

Honestly my Palm Pre too better picks and that was a 3MP camera compared to HTC Evo's 8MB.

Me getting good phones is purely cosmetic and vain, I can't front. As long as the web browsing is fast I'm straight. People tell me to download certain apps, and I do, then NEVER use it. My boy put an app on my phone to watch TV shows, I have yet to use it. I switched phones because my first one was faulty and never bothered to re-download that app.

Im not concerned about the kickstand as amazon will soon be flooded with covers that include kickstands. Sprint right now I believe sells an exclusive cover with a kickstand included.

i had 2 blackberries back in like 2004 i wanna say. one of those big bulky joints that was the size of the original gameboy it seemed like. Honestly, I dont even think I had internet browsing capabilities on it initially. if I did, it was probably too slow to even be worth anything. I remember using it for email though.

I can receive the pictures fine. But it stays within the confines of the text. Like with the blackberry, any pic sent to you goes into a folder for downloads automatically

With the G2X, it doesn't allow you to save the pic or forward outside the confines of a text (I called someone else who had the same phone and I couldnt do it unless they email it to you). So for me to save the picture, I have to save the actual text thread as well. It gives you an option box, but saving the pic/forwarding the text isnt one of the options

Pictures? WTF can you atleast group them? put them in folders? hide some of them ? LOL the gallery on the phone dont have any options. Cant have homegrown pics in the same grouo as my nephew and neice pics

Here’s an easy trick that should only take a couple of minutes to keep unwanted pics and vids from popping up in gallery

1. On your computer, open Notepad or any other text editor

2. Save the blank file as “.nomedia”
Make sure that the Save as type is set as “All Files” instead of “Text documents”

3. Copy that file to the folders on your SD card containing files you don’t want to show up.

The files will still be accessible from your original app or an explorer

It's not a 4G phone, but this Droid 3 is fire! The Fedex man just dropped mine off an hour ago. It's a huge improvement over the original Droid. I'm glad I held out because I was close to going with the iPhone when it first dropped on Verizon. My wife ended up getting one with her upgrade, so I still have a way to enjoy an iPhone (by playing with hers) if the mood ever strikes.
