i always wondered how close you had to be affiliated to get a pass for claiming stuff. I had first cousins that got locked up for running dope houses in K&Q. a childhood friend that has been locked up since we was 15 for murder. Best friends, and I mean call everyday, visit each other, hang out damn near daily, etc that have been locked up for cocaine, beat attempted murder charges, been in gangs, shootouts, etc. Of course they ain't on that tip now (or we probably wouldnt be friends) but if you get to rap about stuff that your friends do/have done I could say a whole lotta wild stuff.

But I don't feel right doing that because it don't pertain to me ya know? I grew up in a 2 parent home, played sports, went to summer camps, went to college, etc. But basically thats what alot of rappers do. Rapping somebody elses story.

the reason I don't accept the rick ross stature either is because he was from a middle class family and didn't really come in the game on no drug dealer type shit and was never really gangsta with it. he had a regular job, if you ask him to his face when did you ever push coke, he's going to avoid the question gauranteed. where as jay-z, biggie etc would say, dog I was on this block and this how it went down.

rick ross was always on some follower shit, he's like an ass kisser type of kat, not really a boss at all, that's just not in his character in my opinion. he constantly pay's homage to everybody and never really has a backbone on any type of stance, of course he had to respond to 50 cent based on how hard 50 came at him but he didn't actually do "ANYTHING", gag orders & all this type of shit was placed and they tried to fight that in a legal means instead of anything street what so ever, and he strikes fear in NOBODYS heart.......

he's a pretty talented guy, but music is where it stops. he has a good voice, presence etc and a good ear for beats/songs. but he's never been a gangster of any kind, he don't whip no work or none of that shit, he's str8 music & business all the way
