This would've been nice if I hadn't seen it already. This is an amalgam of Jay-Z, Kanye, and Kid Cudi. Who is Drake?

The video had some nice visuals and a nice idea but maybe for a different song. You should still be able to hear the song with the video on mute.

hmm..

I was actually ready to diss this video but I like it alot.

it's cool seeing him show some more energy and not do that lazy "rap-while-i-rock-back-and-forth-in-the-same-spot-and-look-away-from-the-camera" shit he always does. plus he gets props for the thriller jacket. lol.

it was cool. better than the bball themed video for best i ever had.

i agree videos should match words...but seriously, how many of them do these days??? i think a lot of cats are critiquing the hell outta drake for what? since when did anyone's video's ever make any damn sense or have any creativity outside of graphic illusions from a green screen.

I dont really like the video going with this song..it just doesnt work for me but I've grown to love the song and the hook severly grew on me. The video though I like but I do not like with the song. Its throwing me off.

this video is just regular video to me...i can understand ppl being thrown off by the best i ever had joint....that shit fit the sogn 0% percent...negative 0 if there's a such thing...

this shit is just a braggy performance video w/ some cool digi effects...you could throw this video on almost any similar song and it'll fit. the song itself is just shit talkin....easiest song to make a vid for

you know whats so crazy.... he won't ever get there.........

this is kinda what I was talking about last year, and why I was down on drake.....

because what I was always saying is, I didn't like the previous music he had, so he came out with alot of new music, alot of which I liked..... obviously he bought his way into the game a little bit & that's why cash money was willing to do the type of split they did, not because he was destined for success but because he had high overhead to create a rap career that he was creating.

I just feel like, drake came out, i wasn't feeling him, then he stepped his song game way up and i started feeling him, and now he just kinda comes out with singles alot, none of which are really certified classic status, but just good hot singles all the time.

in order for drake to make it to any other type of level he needs a fucking certified banger/platinum hit..... which he currently doesn't have in my opinion with any of his songs..........

or he needs to cross over and do something else to create a more pop appeal which I don't think he's going to do on young money...... he almost got pigeon holed into a category fucking w/ young money that i'm not sure he should be in.. maybe i'm wrong? i'ono.. but on young money he's always kinda second man up to wayne who is getting kinda boring himself.

drake doesn't grab me as anybody I gotta run pick up his album. it's like he drop a few joints I check em out & move on..... he doesn't have that star power that jay-z, nas, biggie, 2pac, etc had.... or atleast that type of movement that they had. it's just different.. but i guess that can be related to the times because he's definately putting out a ton of quality music.

The Young Money association is a good look I guess. It helps him appeal to the younger crowd which is the only audience buying records. I understand what you are saying though...he needs to crossover and capture a different audience quick before his career fades.

Similar to what Akon is doing...did that rap shit then went straight international...doing upbeat european type joints with pop stars. Still has enough respect to get featured on a hip hop track here and there...

I agree, he needs a certified banger...similar to 50's "in the club"...some shit that will officially let people know he's here and make him a star.

Listening to that Alicia Keys joint makes me think his R&B work may overshadow his rapping. "I'm Ready" is the best joint I heard from the Alicia Keys album yet (single-wise).

I honestly think the whole game is a 52 fake out...... I don't think anyone can write/perform on that type of level honestly..... it's kinda un-human to be able to compose, write, that many songs all while touring etc......

i'm sure anyone that raps can relate to what i'm saying with the whole lil wayne doing 400 songs in a year, releasing albums, touring, etc.......

the whole shit is obviously a group effort......

perhaps they are super-human? I don't know, but I just never seen any artist ever do it on that type of level, in any way shape or form.......

even with gucci mane's dumb ass lyrics, it's pretty obvious he's buying tracks and having the shit put together for him......

your brain would explode if you did that many tracks a year and that much work, I just don't believe it.......

It has been said that Lil Wayne experiences migraines.

To some degree I believe it's a group effort. Even if it's just one of the weed carriers that come up with the concept to a song during casual conversation. A lot of their songs are recycled too. The hook usually tends to come from another song that they've already recorded. The only hard part then would be writing the verses. With Wayne you can tell he has some formula for his free-conscious word association style of rapping.

Does anybody else get annoyed by Drake's voice? To me he sounds like he's holding his nose when he raps.

lol the singing dead middle of his bars is getting on my nerves...it used to be natural, now its forced and clearly engineered...

q, your right. I been telling my boy this for months now. He needs that certified banger man...I have not heard it yet since "successful" which was hot and had niggas in the club drunk and fogazy swazy lol

think about what your day would be like?

wake up in the morning, write a full song, go record it, then that night go perform.. almost daily, and on the days he's not performing he would need to make two songs & record them because it's only 365 days in a year....... its' kinda unrealistic... that's with ZERO days off... every single day the entire year. nothing but work 100%

I think it would be a muthafucka just to have someone compose your songs for you and have to read & record them every single day then go perform live etc. much less actually come up with your own.

and alot of the bars are semi-slick.. so it's not like he can just write anything.... that whole "I don't write shit cuz I ain't got time" to me is out the window, I don't believe that from any mc, and never have.......

it's not possible to be on a level like wayne and just make up all raps in your head & perform them, NOT POSSIBLE.
