Aight...whats the deal with p90x? What extra equipment did you have to buy besides the DVD? I can get the DVD set burned for $40-$60 on craigslist. Will this be fine, or do I need to official set?

you can probably find each individual workout on youtube...

you need a chair...
You're gonna need weights. dumbells....ranging from 10-50 (or more).
and a pull up bar....lot of its pull ups...

Basically its weight lifting like curls presses, etc....then its pull ups...and pushups (u might want the perfect push up thing).

Then its cardio...don't need nothing but a chair, towel....

and a mat for yoga or the situps....

its really the consistency thats' gonna get you results....

P90x got me pretty shredded man, no lie. I been doing it since the old board. I'd post picture to give yall niggas a reason to be mad but u know how that goes with these insecure dudes and they homophobia...

some tips to give you and idea how ur gonna get the most out the plan...

-Follow the numbers on the diet plan.
they tell you how much grams of carb, fat and protein to take in, its important u dont neglect this. find a web site to track your foods and put them in first before you eat them to make sure your gonna be at the right percentage at the end of the day. when reading the nutrition label of food be aware of calories, carbs, fat and protein. u can skip the whole workout part of the program altogether and just use these numbers and u'd still lose body fat, if thats your only goal, thats how important diet is. but if u want to add muscle to your frame the aswell p90 classics read ahead.

*if u skip the workout program, calculate ur bmr someway other than the p90x way because they factor in the workouts. once u get ur basic calories cut it by about 500 and use the p90x percentages for carbs and stuff.

-Learn proper technique
its important for the effectiveness of your workout that what ur doing is right . get some light weights and mimic the form correctly first, listen to what he says about it, he talks alotta shit. if the lifts are too easy, and you know with the weight ur using it shouldn't be, your form is flawed and ur wasting ur time.

-Get the right mentality
Sounds corny as fuck but if u going into those workouts without plans to torture yourself your gonna go easier than u should and stop when you shouldn't and by doing this ur wasting ur time.

-Stress your body out
This is a result of the last tip. u wanna kill your body thats the whole purpose of working out to put ur body under so much stress that it grows from it. the stress isnt imaginary, you feel it. Ya body tells u when you have gone more than its use too, which is a workout u gonna grow from. U maybe tired and a little sore after a workout and think u went in, when in reality u haven't stimulated the body enuff for growth. what I do during routines, is when I hit that point where it starts to burn intensely, I squeeze out another 3, now I squeeze out 5 extra. proper form and the right weights get u to that burn quicker and during the burn its important to keep proper form. if u slack on the form and make it easy it comes back like u didn't squeeze out the extra anything.

-Take breaks if you must
No doubt you should put you all in the routines and do them intensely. So there gonna be a point where ur ready to quit. resting between the different workout is more beneficial than quitting I rest all the time for 30 secs, just give it your all on the actual workouts.

it's a good workout, but if you miss a day, getting back on is tough. miss two days and you're done - might as well start from scratch.

still though, if you can devote the time, it DOES work.

I have no doubt in my mind that if you are committed enough to consistently do P90X you will have tremendous results. Unfortunately, I personally find home workouts difficult to stick with. Goliath is absolutely right about the missing workouts part.

I seem to be able to be more focused and committed when I go to the gym. I was doing the home workouts, and I had to stop kidding myself because I knew good and well I wasn't going at it the way I should. With going to the gym it's easier for me to get into a routine, and I actually feel really bad if I miss a day. I rejoined the gym after being away from it for almost two years. The results I've gained so far have been a lot better than I expected. It's taken a while to get my strength back but the physique is improving much faster than I thought it would.

These are just the things that work for me. Keep in mind, different strokes for different folks.

funny. the only way I'll work out is in my basement. I'll think of every excuse in the book not to grab my gym shit and go to the gym. then drag my ass home all sweaty. or shower at the nasty gym washrooms.

oddly enough though, I started running with the Running Room (it's this runner's chain store, I'm sure you got something like it) and don't mind going in a few times a week. Ditto for Dragonboat practice.....

I have been using resistant bands and it is still effective, but consistency is the key.

I use it on the door in the basement, so it doesn't mess anything up. When I had it upstairs it did leave marks on the opposite side.

I only made it a month.......I got bored/tired of it...I know it switches up but still....

I took two weeks off and it fucked up my results......

But now I use p90x as a supplemental exercise regimen....I run outside in the mornings instead daily....and do p90 like every other day....

Who in the damn is Mr T? This clown is probably thinking of me in pics from 3 years back.....

I'll have a new pic from this weekend in the race I'm running. Even the one on my facebook is from last August/September - I've slimmed down further still and my shoulders have bulked up.

(and don't think I didn't notice your silly little pushup comment in the other thread....funny how you never responded to my post....)

I still don't know anybody who drinks Stoli. I think the confusion lies in the fact that you think my decision to pass on that
brand has to do with the fact that my friends don't....which is untrue.

I went to that thread again and explained it as clearly as I could.
