So Scarface pulled out. He said he is "hip hop" and not just a dirty south artist.

Looking at that list, some of those motherfuckers should be happy they are even mentioned. If VH1 didn't make it regional, some wouldnt have even made the list.

Luke is complaining....and there was another one who was offended also.

Man I swear....a few days ago in all the VH1 promos for this show they had pictures of deep fried microphones, sneakers and shit all on every promo.

Looks like executives at VH1 are in cleanup mode because a lot of southern rappers are saying that VH1 is mocking them and the music of the South.

I wonder how much influence Scarface will have towards convincing other southern rappers not to go??

That's interesting because I do not consider VA as a Down South state musically.

no not really, I think they was trying to catch people attention w/ some humor and it came off wrong to sensitive muthafuckaz that don't realize it's not a VH1 suit making those images or doing the show anyway, the sad part about it is, an artist like scarface instead of being an asshole could go to VH1 and flip it and they would absolutely let him handle it the way he wanted it to be handled, but instead he'd rather sit back & point fingers like a bitch instead of getting money........

I see what Q is saying but at the same time..Media outlets shitted on the South for years..and now that the south is in a different position musicly,media outlets now want to piggy back off of some of the success the south has gained.. I would back out of that shit too seeing some deep fried mics and shoes..Fuck you think this is?? vh1 does alot of shows in a comedic manner, that's they format..... with alot of the reality shows etc, and it bleed over into a sensitive genre where it became an issue and they changed it.........

they did the white rapper joint and all types of silly shit just comedy status to entertain, they are an entertainment channel not an official music award. the shit is VH1 giving you an award, not HIPHOP itself.........

vh1 is in no way trying to piggy back off southern success...... I honestly hope you know that, because somebody probably had to work they ass off to get that show pitched to vh1 and get it done.... that was "DEFINATELY 100%" not they idea.... none of them shows are they idea......

I've seen several of those shows in the building stage....... I honestly wish they would have just said "JOE BLOWS" hiphop honors instead of putting the vh1 title on it cuz that gave people the wrong idea.......most of them shows really are interns thoughts, NOT VH1.......

I feel like instead of being at odds with everybody, teach somebody the way you want to be represented, step your ass up & make a change if you have an issue, fight for what you believe in to have done correctly or I can't respect it.

I'm more mad at Luke because he said they are paying tribute to his work wtih 2 Live Crew moreso than his solo work. Fool don't you know that thats what everybody knows you for? Me So Horny>Raise The Roof, Scarred, Lollipop, etc.

Secondly, he's mad because they won't acknowledge that he was the first black independent record label but they honor Master P for it. I somewhat see why he's mad, but Luke records only put out himself and H-Town...so yeah he was a pioneer as far as putting records out independently but it was nowhere near Master P level

As far as VA Beach, they are definately NOT southern influenced but hell VA need all the attention we can get so roll with it lol. Richmond definately makes southern based music but we don't have any signed rappers other than Skillz, and Red Rum. Of those 2, only Skillz dropped albums and he don't rap southern at all.

One beat was picked up by Luda, the other became Dirt Off Your Shoulder. Bounce= Dirty South Music.
