The 51-year-old former linebacker for the New York Giants was taken into custody by Ramapo police. He was being held in the town jail with an arraignment in Town Court scheduled for this afternoon.
He was charged with third-degree rape, a charge that involves having intercourse with a minor. The victim was reportedly beaten during the attack.
The crime took place at the Holiday Inn of Suffern, located in Montebello, according to Ramapo police Detective Lt. Brad Weidel.
Taylor, who has a home in New Jersey, told police he was a resident of Pembroke, Fla. He has frequently played golf in Rockland.

"Legally there's no debate on the issue unless he didn't have sex with her, but putting morals and the legal aspect to side for a second and just look at the chain of events, doesn't this story sound a little strange? A runaway that's been missing since March gets turned out by a pimp. I'll assume she has been forced (physically and mentally) to turn tricks for a couple weeks up to a month by now. At the end of her journey (sorry couldn't find another word) she comes in contact with LT. After a little over a month with no communication to her family she finally has access to a cell phone to text her uncle her whereabouts immediately following sex with LT. I fully understand if these accusations are true he broke the law and should be punished for it, but the timing of the girl getting access to a cell phone after sleep with LT seems a little off to me. Maybe I missed something. Did she try to leave or contact her family prior to this incident?"
